Stevie Wonder Extends “Songs In The Key Of Life” Tour Through November

R&B superstar Stevie Wonder returned to the road last fall to celebrate his critically acclaimed 1976 album, “Songs in the Key of Life.” The tour has been a huge success, with people turning out in record numbers to see Wonder perform his classic album in its entirety.

If you didn’t get a chance to see him perform, you’re in luck, because the Songs in the Key of Life tour now been extended, with the 64-year-old Wonder visiting 20 cities across the US in October and November. This leg will mark the final performances in a live tour setting in the U.S. The final show at Madison Square Garden will bring the tour full circle as Stevie concludes the tour at the same venue it began on November 6, 2014.

Rolling Stone declared that “the show is possibly 2014’s greatest testament to the limitless potential of American music itself,” while Billboard stated that “the music still resonates” and that Wonder provides an “electrifying concert… and had the audience roaring and standing on its feet.”

To build buzz about these new dates, Stevie Wonder performed three free pop-up shows on Monday, performing at Armory Mall in Washington, DC in the morning, before heading to Philadelphia in the afternoon for a show at Dilworth Park, and wrapping it up in Central Park that evening.

We have a wide selection of Stevie Wonder tickets for all of the remaining shows. But don’t delay, because they’re going fast!

Grateful Dead Reunite, Jam With Trey Anastasio For Final Shows

Grateful Dead - Fare The Well

In a match made in hippie heaven, Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio will join the four living original members of The Grateful Dead for three sure-to-be-historic 50th-anniversary shows (dubbed “Fare Thee Well”) July 3-5 at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Dead’s last performance with Jerry Garcia, who died in August 1995, was at the same 55,000-seat capacity venue on July 9, 1995. “That’s why we’re doing it in Chicago,” says Peter Shapiro, 42, who’s producing the shows in association with AEG-owned Madison House Presents. “They’re the great American rock’n’roll band returning to where it ended, 20 years later.”

Bob Weir confirmed that “This will be the last shows with the four of us together,” as the core members of the group are getting up their in age.

Tickets for the summertime performances went on sale last month and sold out in record time, causing prices to absolutely skyrocket. Seeing as how this is the last chance to see The Grateful Dead, if you want to see them one last time, you’ve got to pay to play.

We’ve got a large selection of Grateful Dead tickets for all three shows. But don’t wait too long, as they’re going fast!

After 34 Years, The Izod Center Is Closing Down

Izod Center

As a long-time New Jersey resident, I’ve seen countless superstars perform at the iconic Izod Center in East Rutherford NJ, everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Bon Jovi to Justin Timberlake. But now after 34 years, the venue is being forced to close, citing $8.5 million in losses and mounting state subsidies.

While the Izod Center was flush in it’s heyday, thanks to new venues taking a healthy chunk of it’s livelihood (the New Jersey Devils moved to the Prudential Center in Newark, while the Nets moved to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn), the aging arena didn’t stand a chance.

The remaining few events on their books, including Chris Brown and Trey Songz in February and Maroon 5 in March, will be moved to the Prudential Center in Newark.

It’s a sad day for those of us who grew up going to events here..
