Sting & Peter Gabriel To Tour Together In ‘Rock Paper Scissors Tour’

Rock Paper Scissors Tour

It’s official, Peter Gabriel and Sting will be touring together in the US and Canada this summer in what they’re calling the Rock Paper Scissors tour.

Peter and Sting first toured together in 1986 with Amnesty International in the USA and subsequently the World in 1988, and they have been friends ever since.

“I had a successful tour with Paul Simon, who is someone else I admire greatly, and that worked so well I thought I’d like to do this again… who could I tour with? And then I thought of Peter because we’ve known each other for so long” – Sting

“What intrigues me is that when you get a good bunch of musicians together then interesting things will happen if they are allowed to” – Peter Gabriel

For the shows fans can expect the two artists to be delving into each other’s catalogues to choose songs to perform together and will be doing their own solo slots.

“The interesting thing for me is what happens to our songs when they are juxtaposed with each other’s songs. What I do will change what he does and vice-versa. The songs we trade and the songs that we sing together will have an unexpected result, we hope”, says Sting, whilst Peter adds “For me it’s partly what sounds good in that present incarnation balanced with what people want to hear. You want to try and get both sides and throw in something unfamiliar as well as the hits”.

Here’s the Rock Paper Scissors tour schedule:

June 21 – Columbus, OH – Nationwide Arena
June 23 – Washington, DC – Verizon Center
June 24 – Wantagh, NY – Jones Beach

AC/DC concert

AC/DC is returning to the United States for a second leg of their Rock or Bust tour early next year. The shows kick off February 2nd in Tacoma, WA and run through early April, when they’ll close things out at Madison Square Garden.

The first run of the Rock or Bust tour was widely praised by attendees, with Rolling Stones describing their inaugural Boston performance as “spectacular”. I didn’t get to see them the last time around, so I can’t wait to rock out with them when they come through Philadelphia in April.

Bruce Springsteen Announces ‘The River Tour 2016’

Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced The River Tour 2016, a nine-week US trek that begins on January 16th in Pittsburgh. The announcement of the tour coincides with the release of “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection,” a comprehensive look at the era of the 1980 “The River” album that “Rolling Stone” calls “Springsteen’s best archival release yet.”

Each night of the tour will be mixed for release on Live.BruceSpringsteen.net as high-quality downloads and CDs. Recordings will be available within days of each performance.

The original The River Tour began on October 3, 1980, two weeks before the release of Springsteen’s fifth album, and continued through September 4, 1981. With sets that regularly approached the four-hour range, the 140-date international tour firmly established a reputation for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as marathon performers.

Tickets for The River Tour 2016 go on sale on December 11th.

Dead & Company Tour Extended Through End Of Year

Dead & Company

In case you’ve been living under a rock, here’s what you’ve missed. Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with singer/guitarist John Mayer to form the band Dead & Company. The band will take to the road beginning in late October, and they’ll perform two sets of music drawing largely from the Dead’s historic catalog of songs.

“There is a place where music, dreams and magic come together. Grateful Dead music is a portal to that place. It was built to last!” – Mickey Hart.

“Fare Thee Well proved to me that I’m not done exploring new rhythmic territory with Mickey — I’m recommending that everyone puts their helmet on, because we are going to blast our way into some serious drums and space. And with Mayer riding shotgun with Weir — we’re in good company, so to speak.” – Bill Kreutzmann

“We’re not done with these songs and they’re not done with us. We’re gonna take these old friends on some new adventures.” – Bob Weir

Mayer will join Hart, Kreutzmann and Weir, along with Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. “I deeply love the Dead’s music, and it has inspired me in ways I never imagined. To help carry this music is the opportunity and the honor of a lifetime,” Mayer said.

Tickets for the group’s first set of shows sold out in record time, and we anticipate much the same this go around. So if you want to see them, get your Dead & Company tickets now before it’s too late!

Kenny Chesney Announces First Stop of 2016 Tour

Kenny Chesney

Anyone who knows anything about Kenny Chesney knows how deeply his passion for college football runs. So, it’s with great pride that he becomes the performer to hold a concert at Jordan-Hare Stadium, home of the Auburn Tigers since 1939, when he plays the storied venue on Saturday, April 23, 2016. The show will be in conjunction with the inaugural Music & Miracles Superfest.

“There is something about college football that inspires me,” Kenny says. “There is so much heart, so much dignity to playing for the honor of your school. There are, obviously, a lot of good times and great memories made at the games, and those guys on the teams play all out in ways most people don’t realize. Every time I get to play somewhere with the kind of history Auburn has, it pushes me a little harder to really raise the bar. And the mission and heart behind Music & Miracles raises that bar higher still.”

“We are gearing up for a very big year next year,” Kenny says. “I can’t wait to have Miranda and Sam out with us … and there are more surprises for sure. Things people have been asking us for a long time; places we’ve not been – or places we just really love playing. But to be able to start talking about 2016 with something like the Jordan-Hare Stadium? I can’t think of a better way to kick-off what’s going to be an incredible year.”

This is sure to be one heck of a show, so get your Kenny Chesney tickets now!
