Grateful Dead Reunite, Jam With Trey Anastasio For Final Shows

Grateful Dead - Fare The Well

In a match made in hippie heaven, Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio will join the four living original members of The Grateful Dead for three sure-to-be-historic 50th-anniversary shows (dubbed “Fare Thee Well”) July 3-5 at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Dead’s last performance with Jerry Garcia, who died in August 1995, was at the same 55,000-seat capacity venue on July 9, 1995. “That’s why we’re doing it in Chicago,” says Peter Shapiro, 42, who’s producing the shows in association with AEG-owned Madison House Presents. “They’re the great American rock’n’roll band returning to where it ended, 20 years later.”

Bob Weir confirmed that “This will be the last shows with the four of us together,” as the core members of the group are getting up their in age.

Tickets for the summertime performances went on sale last month and sold out in record time, causing prices to absolutely skyrocket. Seeing as how this is the last chance to see The Grateful Dead, if you want to see them one last time, you’ve got to pay to play.

We’ve got a large selection of Grateful Dead tickets for all three shows. But don’t wait too long, as they’re going fast!

After 34 Years, The Izod Center Is Closing Down

Izod Center

As a long-time New Jersey resident, I’ve seen countless superstars perform at the iconic Izod Center in East Rutherford NJ, everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Bon Jovi to Justin Timberlake. But now after 34 years, the venue is being forced to close, citing $8.5 million in losses and mounting state subsidies.

While the Izod Center was flush in it’s heyday, thanks to new venues taking a healthy chunk of it’s livelihood (the New Jersey Devils moved to the Prudential Center in Newark, while the Nets moved to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn), the aging arena didn’t stand a chance.

The remaining few events on their books, including Chris Brown and Trey Songz in February and Maroon 5 in March, will be moved to the Prudential Center in Newark.

It’s a sad day for those of us who grew up going to events here..

Motley Crue Announces Their Final Tour Dates

Motley Crue - L.A. Show Poster

After thirty-four years performing together, iconic rock band Mötley Crüe announced today on Fox and Friends the details of their final performance.

The band will bring their Final Tour show to North America this summer, playing 34 shows in cities such as Chicago, New York, Toronto, Atlanta, and Mexico City.

“In some of the cities, we could only reach a fraction of the fans who wanted to come see us play last year because of ticket demand so we’re coming back to those places to bring them our full production including the Crüecifly drum coaster, as well as all pyro and every other bell and whistle. Even despite the overwhelming fan demand we can only add so many new cities in North America because of our commitment to take the Final Tour global on our final year.” says Nikki Sixx.

Following the North American summer shows, the band will take the Final Tour on more international dates this Fall before “all bad things come to an end” for good on New Year’s Eve 2015, where Motley Crue will perform their final show at Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles.

Motley Crue tickets for this final leg of the Final Tour go on sale this Friday and Saturday. Naturally, we’ll have great seats available for all of these shows.

Sad News For Black Crowes Fans : The Band Has Broken Up

The Black Crowes

The Black Crowes founding member Rich Robinson released a shocking statement yesterday, announcing to the world that The Black Crowes are breaking up. :(

“It is with great disappointment and regret that after having the privilege of writing and performing the music of The Black Crowes over the last 24 years, I find myself in the position of saying that the band has broken up,” the guitarist said in a statement. “I hold my time with the Black Crowes with the utmost respect and sincerest appreciation. It is a huge swath of my life’s body of work. I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished and deeply moved by the relationships people created and maintained with my music. That alone is the greatest honor of being a musician.

“I love my brother and respect his talent but his present demand that I must give up my equal share of the band and that our drummer for 28 years and original partner, Steve Gorman, relinquish 100% of his share, reducing him to a salaried employee, is not something I could agree to,” Robinson continued, referencing his brother, Crowes frontman and co-founder Chris Robinson. “There are so many people who have helped and supported us along the way. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our fans, our friends behind the scenes, and to everyone who was a part of The Black Crowes.”

The Black Crowes previously split up in 2002 and went on hiatus in 2010, only to return both times, so that’s not to say that this is the end for the brand. But with brother Chris Robinson currently busy with his new band, The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, it’s not looking good.
