The Police add Atlantic City to tour plans

Though there’s been no official confirmation, all signs point to The Police setting up a fall leg to their hot-selling reunion tour, which kicks off later this month, and now includes a November performance in Atlantic City, NJ.

The November 3rd show at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall is the second November date that the band has rolled out, and follows a massive summer run that stretches from late May through early August.

The upcoming tour is The Police’s first in more than 20 years. Animosity among the members–Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland–caused them to go their separate ways following a 1984 tour to support their last studio album, “Synchronicity.” The five-time Grammy-winning band did manage a one-night reunion when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

Navy says Phil Stacey can tour!

American Idols Live

American Idol contestant Phil Stacey can leave his shipmates to join his castmates on this summer’s American Idol Tour that kicks off in Florida.

“It is absolutely true,” US Navy spokesman Bob Anderson said to People magazine Friday about Petty Officer 3rd Class Stacey receiving permission to tour. “They’re working on the logistics right now — what he’ll be paid, wear, stuff like that.”

Stacey, 29, will join the top 10 “Idol” finishers — Haley Scarnato, Sanjaya Malakar, Melinda Doolittle, Lakisha Jones, Blake Lewis, Gina Glocksen, Chris Richardson, Chris Sligh and Jordin Sparks for American Idols Live!

The nationwide concert tour kicks off July 6 in Sunrise, Florida, not far from Stacey’s home in Jacksonville, and ends September 22 in in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Lewis and Sparks will be competing for the “Idol” title this week.

Tool extends tour through mid-July

Tool has made some changes and additions to their North American tour, which kicked off last week with two nights in Las Vegas and now stretches into mid-July.

Several cities have been tacked onto the 45-date outing, including Ft. Worth, TX; Hamilton, Ontario; Montreal; Boston; Portland, ME; Albany, NY; and Reading, PA. Tool has also been added to Milwaukee’s Summerfest in July, and will be a headliner at Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo Festival in June.

The trek was originally set to kick off in mid-March, but was postponed after drummer Danny Carey tore a bicep. The accident happened a week after the band announced the first 30 dates of the North American trek.
