The 2010 College World Series began yesterday, and will conclude on June 30th in Omaha, Nebraska at Rosenblatt Stadium. As part of the 2010 collegiate baseball season, eight NCAA Division I college baseball teams will meet after having played their way through the NCAA Tournament.

It is the 64th College World Series overall, and the 61st held in Omaha. In June 2009, the NCAA and the College World Series of Omaha announced a new 25-year contract extension, keeping the CWS in Omaha through 2035.
Rosenblatt Stadium has hosted the CWS since 1950, but 2010 will be the final College World Series to be played in the famed stadium. Next year, the tournament is scheduled to move from Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium to the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, a new ballpark across from Qwest Center Omaha.
