Add Rihanna’s name to the list of struggling summer concert tours. Rihanna has canceled two more Last Girl On Earth tour dates because of poor ticket sales in Denver and Indianapolis. She has now cancelled six shows..
This has been a particularly tough season for concerts, with over a dozen tours either scaled back or cancelled altogether. Experts cite a struggling economy, unrealistic venue choices, and sky-high ticket prices.
Let’s face it, the vast majority of people aren’t going to spend $100+ to see Rihanna. Scale it back to a club tour, slash prices by 50%, and now you’ve got a viable tour. Until then, we’ll continue to report on the latest tour cancellations.
