John Mayer is set to open up what promises to be a long, hot summer on the North American amphitheater circuit.

Mayer launched his 40-city outing last week in Charlotte, NC, and he’ll be on the road through September 11th. Support acts include Train, Guster, The Avett Brothers and Owl City. He’s touring in support of his fifth album, “Battle Studies,” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in November 2009.
