MLB Playoff Positioning Still To Be Decided

Three contenders battling for wild NL West

How will the NL West be won? Can the Rockies — fresh off a 10-game win streak — prevail behind the power bats of Troy Tulowitzki and Triple Crown candidate Carlos Gonzalez? Will the Padres complete the storybook ending to their magical season? And what about the Giants? Is Tim Lincecum’s return to Cy Young form enough to put them over the top? Stay tuned for all those answers over the next three weeks.

There’s plenty more to be decided around the rest of baseball, too. The Rangers hold a comfortable lead in the AL West, but the Red Sox, White Sox, Twins, Yankees and Rays are all vying for the Junior Circuit’s other three postseason berths. Two of those teams will be left watching from home in October. The Phillies and Braves are locked in a heavyweight slugfest for the NL East, while the Cardinals are still lingering behind the Reds in the NL Central picture.

Even with game #162 quickly approaching, little is set in stone.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Plots Their Winter Tour

TSO

Once again, as the autumnal season approaches, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) unveils its holiday tour plans. With 78 dates on the schedule, two separate groups will be employed to cover the ground. The two treks begin on November 3 when TSO will perform in Youngstown, Ohio and Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The nearly two-month North American runs both conclude on December 30 with TSO in St. Louis and Auburn Hills, Mich. The TSO performances are known not only for the rock opera-style music, but also the lasers, state-of-the-art lights, and pyrotechnics that create a wondrously captivating experience year after year.

Due to popular demand, most cities will host two performances – a matinee and an evening show. Cities with only a single show include Las Vegas and Washingon DC.

Why The Eagles Will Win on Sunday…

A new era of Eagles football gets underway as Kevin Kolb takes over the reins of this young, but experienced team. And a tremendous test awaits as the Eagles host the Green Bay Packers in a nationally televised affair. But why settle for TV, when we’ve still got great Eagles tickets for this weekend’s game!

It’s fitting that the Eagles on this day enjoy a new beginning while honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1960 championship team that defeated Vince Lombardi’s Packers. The current version of the Packers are led by one of the game’s elite quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers. Their defense has the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Charles Woodson. So, how will the Eagles beat the Packers? Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro lays out the game plan.

Once the game is over, make sure to log on to EaglesGab.com for a complete recap and analysis …

Celebrity Seats Picks of the Week

College football kicks off Week 2, while the NFL starts its regular season and the MLB playoff picture becomes more clear. Check out our ticket picks of the week:

College Football
Miami Hurricanes @ Ohio State Buckeyes Tickets
These two teams outscored their opponents 90-7 in Week 1, with Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor and Miami QB Jacory Harris each throwing for more than 200 yards and 3 TDs. It should be a fun Saturday afternoon at The Shoe!

College Football
Penn State Nittany Lions @ Alabama Crimson Tide Tickets
Joe Pa’s team, lead by true freshman QB Robert Bolden, will have its hands full on Saturday in Tuscaloosa when it faces the No. 1 team in the country. Even without DE Marcell Dareus and RB Mark Ingram (most likely), the Tide looks to continue the SEC’s dominance of the Big Ten in marquee games.

NFL Football
Baltimore Ravens @ New York Jets Tickets
The Ravens draw the Jets in the Monday Night Football opener at the New Meadowlands. Could it be a preview of the AFC Championship game in January? Ravens QB Joe Flacco brings three of the League’s top WRs with him to NY (Boldin, Houshmandzadeh, Mason), while the Jets and CB Darrelle Revis look to leave them all stranded on Revis Island.

NFL Football
Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins Tickets
The Boys struggled on the road in the preseason, but it was only preseason. And QB Tony Romo will have the team fired up on Sunday Night at FedEx field when a new era kicks off in Washington—QB Donovan McNabb and coach Mike Shanahan. Both will be sizing up the Cowboys, each feeling the pressure of opening the season (and winning) against the NFC East rivals.

MLB Baseball
New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers Tickets
In a battle of AL division leaders, and a potential first round playoff matchup, the Yankees look to put more distance between them and the Rays in the East, while the Rangers look to improve their record and playoff seed.

MLB Baseball
San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres Tickets
Few could imagine the Padres losing ten games in a row, but the skid has the Giants in the hunt to win the NL West. In what’ll be one the best weekend series of the season in San Diego, the Giants look to topple the Padres and take over the division lead. Will the Padres regroup and win at home?
